Panama Expat Explorer is a brand new resource born from a simple observation: expats need a better way to find the everyday essentials that make life in Panama work.
Why This Site Exists
If you’ve spent any time in Panama expat Facebook groups, you’ve seen the pattern. Every day, someone asks: “Does anyone know a good veterinarian in David?” “Can anyone recommend a reliable plumber in Boquete?” “Where can I get my car repaired in Panama City?” “Is there a dentist who speaks English?”
The same questions, asked over and over. Valuable answers buried in comment threads, lost to the Facebook algorithm, impossible to find when you need them six months later.
That’s the gap Panama Expat Explorer aims to fill.
A Work in Progress
This site is just getting started, and I’m building it deliberately—one verified business, one helpful resource at a time. It’s tied to my YouTube channel where I explore Panama, spotlight local businesses, and share my own journey of retiring and becoming an expat here.
The vision is simple but ambitious: create a searchable, organized directory of the services expats actually need day-to-day. Not just the big-ticket items like real estate agents and immigration attorneys (though those have their place), but the everyday essentials:

- Plumbers, electricians, and handymen
- Auto repair shops and mechanics
- Grocery stores and markets

- And everything else that makes daily life run smoothly
