Metropolitan Natural Park Visitor Center

Description

The only urban natural park in Latin America, this 232-hectare reserve in Ancón at the end of Avenida Juan Pablo II protects dry and humid tropical forest within Panama City. Visitors can explore well-marked hiking trails, guided and self-guided interpretive tours, night wildlife tours, and panoramic miradores overlooking the city skyline. The Laguna Jicotea and a visitor center anchor the experience, complemented by event spaces, photography and filming permits, and robust educational programming for schools, organizations, and community groups. Annual events include reforestation drives, environmental fairs, and community days.
